The Physical Therapist / Vestibular Therapist is responsible for evaluating / assessing needs of referred post-concussion syndrome patients and formulating treatment plans. In addition to orthopedic therapy treatment disciplines, the Vestibular Therapist will have a strong clinical interest in and experience with sport concussion management. This position provides therapy services defined in treatment plans and works cooperatively with physicians, case managers, and adjustors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluates the extent of the patient's disabilities to determine appropriate treatment programs.
- Administers medically prescribed physical therapy treatment on patients suffering from injuries, or muscle, nerve, joint, and bone diseases, to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability.
- Reviews physician's referral (prescription) and patient's condition and medical records to determine physical therapy treatment required.
- Records treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart or enters information into computer.
- Instructs patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home.
