The Lead provides support to the Business office teams. In addition, this role supports the Business Office Manager by assisting with team staffing, problem resolution, and team related projects to improve patient service levels. As a working lead, approximately 25% of this role will be handling coding and other business office tasks.
Requirements : Key Responsibilities
- Team Coordination and Communication : Serve as the central point of contact between coders, billing specialists, and other clinic staff to ensure seamless communication and collaboration, addressing questions and concerns promptly.
- Workflow Management : Oversee and streamline the daily workflow of the business office team, ensuring coding and billing tasks are completed efficiently and in compliance with clinic policies and industry regulations.
- Training and Development : Provide ongoing training and mentoring for coders and billing specialists to keep them updated on coding guidelines (e.g., ICD-10, CPT), insurance policies, and billing practices.
- Performance Monitoring : Set performance goals for team members, track progress, and provide constructive feedback to maintain high standards of productivity and quality.
- Issue Resolution : Act as a problem-solver for escalated issues, such as denied claims, coding errors, or insurance disputes, ensuring timely resolution and maintaining positive relationships with payers.
- Compliance Oversight : Ensure the business office adheres to HIPAA, state, and federal regulations, as well as payer-specific guidelines, safeguarding patient information and maintaining the clinic’s reputation.
