The MRI Lead is responsible for overseeing the staff and clinical operations within the imaging department. This role involves ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and collaborating with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes. The MRI Lead also plays a key role in staff development and training, process improvement, and patient education.

Requirements :

  • Oversee the day-to-day clinical operations of the MRI department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and guide for radiology staff.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise staff within the imaging department. Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities.
  • Coordinate patient care, ensuring efficient patient flow and minimizing wait times. Address patient concerns and ensure a positive patient experience.
  • Communicate with patients and their families regarding care, address patient concerns, and ensure a positive patient experience.
  • Assist with patient positioning, preparation, and monitoring during imaging procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical and ambulatory surgery center policies, state and federal regulations, and accreditation standards. Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and enforce safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Facilitate effective communication between MRI staff and other departments.
  • Develop and implement training programs for staff in the MRI department.
  • Provide patient education regarding imaging procedures, preparation, and follow-up care.
  • Managing scheduling and staffing to ensure adequate coverage and efficient operations.
  • Prepare and analyze reports on department performance, patient outcomes, and quality metrics.
  • Able and willing to step in whenever necessary to handle additional duties.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have completed formal Radiologic Technology training in an AMA-approved (minimum 2 years) program or have an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology or a related field
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required
  • Previous experience as a Radiologic or MRI technologist, preferably in an orthopedic or hospital setting
  • Minimum of two years of medical experience, with at least two years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of imaging procedures, patient care protocols, and safety standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, experience resolving patient and team issues including service and scheduling-related issues.
  • Knowledgeable of patient rights and ensures an atmosphere that allows for the privacy, dignity, and well-being of all patients in a safe and secure environment.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) such as EPIC and other relevant software.
