Description
The Total Joint Navigator and Quality RN position will be a hybrid position, with the expectation that the individual in the job have experience working in an ambulatory surgery center and will be expected to cover assignments in their respective unit on a day where there is a sick call.
This position will be a .9 – 1.0 position.
Responsibilities
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
BLS required, ACLS within 1 year of hire.
Experience Prefered, One year operating room or previous operating room exposure i.e. surgical tech. Willing to train the right candiadate if no experience.
Licensure: Current RN Wisconsin licensure by the state Board of Nursing
Equipment: Basic knowledge of all equipment used in operating room environment, will train if unexperienced.
Education
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Working Conditions

Responsibilities
- Maintenance of a spreadsheet of TJR patients and work completed for each
- Working with PAT RNs to ensure optimization and decrease DOS cancellations
- Building rapport with patients – encouraging them to complete all necessary steps to a successful surgery and outcomes including: HOOS & KOOS completion, Road to Recovery class participation, Week prior phone call, Day before surgery touch base with patient, Post-op questions resource for patients
- Function as an active part of TJR QAPI by keeping statistics (HOOS, KOOS, RtR Class participation, incidents (ER admits, transfers, infections, patient satisfaction) and reporting these out to QAPI, quarterly reporting to ACHC and ASCA and identify quality study opportunities
- Know, understand and monitor compliance with TJ Specialty Certification Standards
- High level communicator with all customers (patients, physicians and team members)

- Office product savvy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Desire to succeed in new role while maintaining current clinical skills
- Willingness to train a new person in the role after the first year

Working Conditions
- Normal perioperative environment with exposure to chemical odors, cleaning solvents and other hazardous materials. Must follow established procedures to ensure safety.
- Exposure to possible injury when working with electrical equipment and lasers which require care and following proper safety procedures.
