What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgery Center Manager position at Orthopaedic Associates?
Orthopaedic Associates is looking for a highly skilled nurse manager to oversee our high volume, orthopaedic only, ambulatory surgery center. The ideal candidate will be ACLS certified and have previous orthopaedic and/or surgical experience as well as management experience. The candidate must also have an unrestricted Indiana Registered Nurse license. This is an outpatient-only facility, so hours would be Monday - Friday day shift. This is a full-time position.
Under the general supervision of the Surgery Center Administrator, the Surgery Center Manager will oversee the daily operations of the operating room, preop, and PACU areas. The Surgery Center Manager will provide management and oversight of clinical processes and resources and will schedule staff and perform basic human resource functions for employees of the Surgery Center.

- Coordinate communication and scheduling between the surgical team, including the surgeon, and anesthesiologist
- Oversee human resources and patient care aspects
- Performance appraisal
- Coaching, mentoring and addressing staff standards of performance
- Demonstrate the ability to cope and manage change in stressful situations helping others do the same
- Demonstrate ability to make decisions using sound judgement
- Lead quality performance improvement initiatives
- Listen to the voice of staff, physicians and other customers to identify opportunities/innovation to enhance retention, sustainability, and strengthen relationships.
- Assist in developing, monitoring, and managing budgets
- Maintain employee records, surgical records, occurrence data, and hazard control information

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree from accredited college/university and current unrestricted Indiana Registered Nurse license required. CPR and ACLS certification required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a surgery center or outpatient setting, OR experience preferred
- Minimum of 1 year experience nursing management experience required
- Strong prioritization and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates strong leadership, creativity, and management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Must have the ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.
