What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receptionist position at Orthopaedic Hospital?
SUMMARY:
The Receptionist position will encompass a variety of clerical duties to support the staff of the Luskin Orthopaedic Institute for Children Foundation while primarily performing the front desk receptionist function. Supervision provided by the Director of Corporate & Community Engagement.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answers main phone line, greet visitors and ensure high level customer service is performed at all times.
- Ensures that the front reception area is staffed at all times, clean, neat and orderly in order to receive visitors.
- General Office - Performs general clerical duties and assistance to Foundation staff as assigned
- Gift Assistance and Data Maintenance – logging in-kind donations and all volunteer information into Raiser’s Edge Database and volunteer folders
- Supply Maintenance - Orders Volunteer Department supplies. Completes and follows up on requisitions for food service and equipment needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Display strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills in coordination of LuskinOIC communications.
- Exhibit strong organizational and problem solving skills with high attention to detail and disciplined follow-through to complete assigned tasks and duties with specified deadlines.
- Demonstrate an ability to handle multiple assignments while meeting deadlines, monitor and meet goals set with supervisor.
- Independently discern work priorities.
- Skilled and working with a wide variety of individuals at varying levels and departments of the organization to gain consensus and get tasks completed.
- Ability to proofread printed copy in English (Spanish also preferred but not required).
- Ability to work independently at times.
- Skilled in remaining focused on timely completion of professional level work while being continually interrupted by phone and in person.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Graduate.
- Previous experience working in an office-setting
- Strong clerical skills and computer experience, including knowledge of accounting, word processing, data entry, etc.
- Good analytical abilities and organizational skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Flexible personality to include: sense of humor, confident, self-starter with initiative, and willingness to learn.
- Experience in Raiser’s Edge preferred.
- Bilingual preferred.
Dress Code
- Employee must adhere to specific uniform policy outlined by Foundation department. Uniform will be provided by department.
Complexity:
- Ability to perform highly detailed work with sustained attention while providing/obtaining information on numerous inquiries is paramount to success in this position. High-level ability to prioritize and reprioritize daily and assigned workflow. Ability to maintain confidentiality, professional discretion and ethical behavior.
