What are the responsibilities and job description for the Check-In Receptionist position at Orthopaedic Institute of North Mississippi?
The Check-In Receptionist is responsible for all aspects of patient registration and check in. This member of our fast-paced orthopedic practice will greet, assist, and provide direction and information to patients and visitors.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Complete patient registration and check in process, verifying insurance benefits
- Obtain necessary referrals
- Collect and post patient copays and payments
- Facilitates patient flow by notifying the provider of patients' arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff
- Scheduling appointments
- Assists patients as necessary. Contacts appropriate parties for transportation.
- Managing payment batches and submitting daily balance sheets
- Maintains reception area in a neat and orderly condition
- Assists patients with electronic kiosks
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to project a professional image with a strong sense of ethics
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills
- Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
Education and Experience:
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged standing and/or periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
