What are the responsibilities and job description for the CLINIC SUPERVISOR position at Orthopaedic Institute of North Mississippi?
The Clinical Supervisor provides clinical oversight for all locations of the practice and provides professional supervisory support to clinical staff. Functions as an active member of the department’s clinical staff by providing quality nursing care for patients following established standards and practices. Refers matters outside their scope of duties to the appropriate administrator or physician. This position requires a valid LPN/RN license.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as leader for all clinical aspects of the practice ensuring compliance with quality and corporate initiatives.
- Assists the CEO and Director of Patient Services in overseeing the day-to-day operations for all clinical areas of the practice.
- Supervises and provides direction/delegation of duties to clinical staff (including but not limited to: Clinical Coordinators, Medical Assistants, LPNS, Radiological Technicians, Cast Technicians)
- Additional clinic duties as needed:
- Triage telephone calls from orthopedic patients.
- Coordinate patient care with the appropriate medical specialist.
- Act as liaison between clinical staff and patients as needed/required.
- Perform operational management tasks as needed, including PTO approval and workflow improvement.
- Oversee training and adherence to local, state, and federal office certifications as they pertain to clinical care.
- Work closely with HR to train and onboard new and existing staff in clinical guidelines, protocols, and processes.
- Represents clinic in a professional manner by treating all employees and patients in a courteous and cooperative manner. Perpetuates a positive atmosphere to the staff, ensuring patient satisfaction standards are met.
- Attends required meetings and participates in team and professional development activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid LPN/RN license in the state of MS
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
- Minimum three years orthopedic experience in a clinical setting
- Must be computer literate and have Electronic Medical Records systems experience (ModMed experience preferred but not required)
- Minimum five years of supervisory experience of ten or more employees with proven leadership, communication, team building, and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a stressful, deadline-oriented environment
