Orthopaedic Medical Group of Tampa Bay is a fast-paced and well-established Orthopaedic practice with 9 locations. The position is currently located at our Corporate Office, located at 13837 Circa Crossing Drive, Lithia FL 33547.
The Billing Administrative Specialist position is responsible for a variety of tasks including but not limited to:
· Processing insurance medical records requests for all payors, to include Availity, UHC TrackIt, and all paper insurance claims.
· Print and scan into share drive and mail all paper insurance claims to include office visit notes, physical therapy notes, DME, DWC, ATP, or any other necessary documents.
· Upload appropriate documentation to Jopari [clearinghouse] for claims processing
· Sort and allocate insurance record requests daily.
· Pull DME invoices for Workman’s Compensation.
· Work denied patient eligibility claims daily for all payors.
· Contact patient to update insurance information.
· Process/complete patient collection letters.
· Assist with patient collections outbound/inbound calls.
· Call patients to establish payment plans and enter in phone numbers for statements text message.
· Answering calls to explain patient balances.
· Miscellaneous special projects as needed for entire billing department.
· Maintains confidentiality of all patient and financial information. Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
· Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
The Billing Administrative Specialist must support all administrative functions of the Billing Department as directed by the Billing Manager. Must be able to work and complete tasks on schedule with minimal supervision.
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year customer service experience required.
- Minimum of 1 year customer service experience required.
- 1-3 years medical office/administrative experience preferred.
- 1-3 years medical billing experience preferred.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Understanding/compliance of HIPAA laws and regulations.
- Computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service skills in person and over the phone.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Must be well organized, detail-oriented and demonstrate accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
- Able to work in a team environment.
- Ability to operate standard office machines and equipment, including telephones, computers, copy machines, fax machines, calculators, scanners, and shredders.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Type a minimum of 35 wpm.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment.
- Manual dexterity is needed for using a ten-key calculator and/or computer keyboard.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
