We are looking for a Medical Scribe that has proficiency with typing and ability to understand medical terminology, high level verbal and written communication skills, work at a fast pace, self-motivated, critical thinking and above average ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. The ideal candidate will provide accurate and complete documentation of interactions between the medical provider and patient, and able to work in fast paced, busy clinic environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with rooming and checking patients out in the office following the physician directives
- Record details of chief complaint, history of present illness, past medical history, social history, and disease risk factors.
- Record details of the physical exam, including pertinent positives and negatives, noted abnormalities and patient's general condition
- Document the assessment and plan as directed by the provider
- Interpersonal communication skills include the ability to coordinate patient care with other team members and educate patients and their families.
- Demonstrates caring, honesty, and open communication with all and encourages a smart and professional appearance in self and in others.
- Demonstrates an awareness of legal issues, patient rights and compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients being served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of each patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's/area's/department's policies and procedures.
- Responsible for following all HIPPA regulations and guidelines
- Responsible for following all OSHA guidelines
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethic codes
- Other duties as assigned
- Travel to all OMGTB locations is required
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical documentation practices.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems is preferred.
- Excellent typing skills with the ability to transcribe quickly and accurately during patient interactions.
- Familiarity with medical office operations and procedures is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with healthcare providers and patients.
- Previous experience as a scribe or in a clinical setting is advantageous but not required.
