Director - Human Resources - Tampa Bay Area

This individual will serve as both a hands-on leader and a strategic partner in all human resources activities across the region. In this role, you will oversee HR business partnerships, employee relations, policy interpretation, talent management, talent acquisition, performance management, workforce planning, and compensation planning. You will also collaborate closely with the regional leadership team and provide customized HR support for physicians within the group. The Director will be expected to manage a team while providing direct guidance and support on complex HR issues, continuously identifying opportunities for process improvements, and implementing effective solutions. This role requires a keen understanding of the business to ensure the practice's continued growth and operational success within a matrixed environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the regional HR team within a matrix organizational structure, ensuring efficient and effective execution of HR functions such as employee relations, talent management, performance management, compensation planning, and workforce planning.
• Serve as a key HR business partner to the regional leadership team, providing insights and recommendations on HR-related strategies and initiatives.
• Provide expert HR guidance and partnership to physicians within the group regarding pay, benefits, policies, and other HR-related topics.
• Collaborate with leadership and physicians to interpret HR-related reporting and analysis, and provide actionable recommendations based on findings.
• Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements across the HR function and implement solutions that enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and employee satisfaction.
• Oversee and support HR business processes, ensuring alignment with the organization’s broader HR strategies, policies, and goals.
• Drive talent acquisition strategies and ensure the region attracts and retains top talent.
• Support performance management efforts across the region by guiding leaders and employees in managing performance, growth, and development.
• Interpret and ensure compliance with company policies, federal and state employment regulations, and best practices in human resources.
• Foster positive employee relations and resolve complex employee relations issues as they arise.
• Partner closely with HR leadership to develop and implement workforce planning and compensation strategies tailored to the region’s needs.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with physicians to ensure they have the necessary support in managing HR-related questions and challenges.
• Lead, develop, and mentor HR team members, promoting continuous growth and effective collaboration within the matrix environment.

Qualifications and Competencies:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5-7 years of experience as a leader within a matrixed organization, including 3-5 years of hands-on HR leadership experience.
• Experience in a healthcare environment, with direct connection to physicians, is preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Expertise in navigating and leveraging HRIS/HCM systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and constituents at all levels, including senior leadership and physicians.
• Solid understanding of the healthcare business environment, with the ability to tailor HR solutions to meet specific regional and organizational needs.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a focus on continuous process improvements to drive organizational effectiveness.
