Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, Generally 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.
Summary:
The Intake Specialist provides essential support to the clinic by assisting with patient intake, documentation, and coordination of clinical needs. This position ensures an efficient and positive patient experience while supporting the clinical team in a fast-paced orthopedic environment.
This position requires compliance with OrthoEast’s compliance standards, including its Code of Conduct, Compliance Program, and policies and procedures. Such compliance will be an element required as part of the job duties and considered during performance evaluations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Measure and record patient height, weight, and blood pressure.
- Collect and document patient medical history, current medications, and allergies.
- Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information at least every three months or as needed.
- Confirm and schedule patient appointments accurately.
- Prepare patient charts prior to appointments to streamline clinic workflow.
- Screen all new and existing patients upon arrival to facilitate check-in procedures.
- Provide support to the Medical Assistant team with message tasks as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Clinic Director or supervisory staff.
Education and/or Experience:
- 0–3 years of experience in a clinical or healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in documenting and updating patient records.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinic environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
