**Schedule:** Monday – Friday, 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M., with early and later shifts based on patient appointments
Position Summary:The Worker’s Compensation Coordinator serves as the primary liaison for the Worker’s Compensation patient population, ensuring smooth navigation of the care process for patients, employers, and case managers. This role manages all clerical, scheduling, and authorization functions specific to Worker’s Compensation, while also supporting the Surgical Coordinator to ensure continuity of care when needed.
This position requires compliance with OrthoEast’s compliance standards, including its Code of Conduct, Compliance Program, and policies and procedures. Such compliance will be an element required as part of the job duties and considered during performance evaluations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:· Serve as the liaison for Worker’s Compensation patients, maintaining proactive communication with case managers, employers, and payers.
· Stay updated on current WC regulations and ensure treatment plans align with carrier requirements.
· Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system to avoid duplicated efforts or missed information.
· Assist in pre-op documentation for surgical cases related to WC, including acquiring signatures and preparing packets.
· Monitor patient status updates, test results, documentation requirements, and next steps—escalating any issues to providers as needed.
· Respond promptly to patient calls, questions, or concerns and ensure all interactions are documented.
· Support the WC administrative functions as follows:
· Coordinate appointments, obtain authorizations, and prepare required documentation for Worker’s Compensation-related visits.
· Facilitate communication with internal departments and external parties to ensure accurate and timely documentation and scheduling.
· Provide backup support to the Surgical Coordinator during peak volumes or absences.
· Other duties as required.
Qualifications:· High School Diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
· Minimum 2 years in a medical office or care coordination role; WC experience preferred.
· Working knowledge of medical documentation, insurance authorization, and care navigation.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and EMR systems.
· Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
· Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
