Busy Orthopedic Practice in Decatur seeing patients in a clinical setting seeks high energy, efficient receptionist with exceptional people skills and experience in health insurance verification and scheduling.
Essentials: A self-starter with the passion to excel in everything you do, comfortable working in an environment that is constantly changing, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
Job Duties:
- Answering incoming patient calls
- Managing provider schedules by scheduling new patient and follow up appointments
- Verifying insurance benefits and obtaining referrals when required
- Accurately entering and updating patient information in EMR system
- Collecting copays, coinsurances and balances
Preferred Experience:
- Minimum of one year of work experience in a medical office
- Thorough understanding of insurance plans
- Strong customer focus with a caring attitude over the phone and in person
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer skills
- Works well independently while understanding the importance of communicating with staff
- Manage Physicians, Physician Assistants and Medical Assistant's schedules with detailed notes
- Ability to prioritize duties daily and weekly
