SUMMARY OF POSITION :
The Associate Director of Behavioral Health (ADBH) will provide behavioral health and substance abuse clinical programming, interact with clients as well as implement new programs and in-services as needed. Serves as a mentor to clinical and substance abuse counselors, interns, and behavioral case managers within the program. The ADBH will be responsible for providing ongoing supervision, training, and oversight of clinical activities. They will work collaboratively with other Public Health Initiatives Programs in the development and implementation of programs that reflect the mission and statement of The Puerto Rican Cultural Center. ADBH will also provide mental health assessment, short-term and some long-term substance abuse, and mental health counseling services to young and older adults with mental health challenges. This includes but is not limited to; the assessment of needs and barriers to mental health services, case management, treatment planning, individual, and group therapy, crisis management, and referral to internal and external resources. The ADBH will be responsible for educating the LGBTQ community in regard to access to mental health services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Coordinates clinical services with staff, community partners, agency initiatives, and Agency Directors.
- Applies policies and procedures in accordance with compliance measures following regulations and licensing requirements.
- Develop, analyzes, and interpret required reports to measure program performance and compliance.
- Monitor client records, behavior, progress, and treatment plans in relationship with treatment services.
- Ensures and provides for effective case management development and implementation including specialized behavioral intervention plans, progress and update reports, and treatment team meetings.
- Conducts client file reviews in a timely manner to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Develop and provide substance use and mental health individual and group therapy services. Target groups include gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender populations of varied ethnic backgrounds as well as HIV / AIDS-impacted clients.
- Provide crisis assessment and intervention to behavioral health and primary care clients, and other individuals presenting in crisis.
- Document patient contact / progress concisely in the electronic medical record in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Ensure the highest quality of care by collaborating with other disciplines (i.e., medical, case management, linkage to care) to improve client's mental and physical health.
- Provide consultation to other staff, trainees, and volunteers on substance use issues.
- Attend and participate in all required meetings, including department and program meetings, agency committee meetings, agency all-staff meetings, training, and group consultation.
- Maintain the highest level of patient confidentiality.
- Participate in ongoing training, staff development, and program evaluation activities
- Attends the PRCC and program-specific and organizational activities and meetings, including but not limited to the monthly organization-wide General Assembly
- Participates in organizational annual events including but not limited to the Puerto Rican People's Parade, Fiesta Boricua, Three Kings Day, and Haunted Paseo Boricua
- Performs other functions assigned
This position requires compliance with all of The PRCC's written standards, including its Standards of Conduct, all policies and procedures, and Regulatory Compliance requirements. Compliance will be considered as part of the regular performance evaluation.
