In support of high-quality patient care, we are currently seeking an experienced Medical Authorization / Injection Precertification Specialist with Epic experience to join our team. The successful candidate will have at least two years' experience in medical authorization / precertification for either surgical cases, MRIs, or injections and must possess the ability to work independently, be a quick learner, possess strong attention to detail, have a strong work ethic with impeccable attendance and reliability, and the desire to be part of a great team.
Functions of the job include, but may not be limited to :
- Communicate with insurance companies to provide information necessary to obtain prior authorizations.
- Access online insurance portals to enter and obtain prior authorizations.
- Gather appropriate demographic and insurance related details.
- Communicate with physicians regarding peer-to-peer reviews for insurance companies.
- Communicate with patients and staff in a prompt, pleasant and helpful manner.
- Answer questions regarding patient's care with outside organizations.
- Verify patient demographic and eligibility information and relay changes to appropriate staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
