Orthopedic Specialists of SW Florida are seeking a DME Coordinator to join our team. Responsible for all DME products, ordering, inventory, distribution and patient fitting.

Responsibilities:
- Maintains appropriate inventory levels for DME products. Monitor pricing and quality. Place orders direct from vendors for best cost.
- Checks inventory in and out, ensure adequate stock is maintained
- Assists with developing and revising DME policies and procedures, educate staff regarding same, maintains and revises physician protocols related to DME
- Is readily available for physician and staff requests for DME fitting
- Meets with patients to educate and explain the process of DME, measure patient and schedule appointment for fittings
- Pre-authorize DME with insurance companies. Educates patient regarding product pricing, insurance coverage and patient financial responsibility. Refer to accounts receivable for payment arrangements for patients unable to pay.
- Fits DME products according to the provider’s prescription and DME manufacturer’s speciation’s
- Escort patients to the front desk to pay for DME equipment
- Completes paperwork related to DME product, such as letters of medical necessity, request from insurance companies, invoices to A/R when request. Ensure all products dispensed are account for and billed.
- Obtain patient signatures on ABN forms and merchandise receipt forms, document on superbill
- Keeps COO informed of all issues of concern related to DME program
- Checks all DME inventory sheets to verify proper billing and transfer from EMA
- Receive shipment, record and stock
- Processes and approves invoices, matching packing slips to invoices and submitting to A/P
- Ensures appropriate and detailed account of merchandise and credits
- Computer Literate - Windows environment
- Ability to perform essential duties as assigned
- Ability to clearly communicate written and verbal instructions
- Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and prioritize
- Ability to demonstrate proper telephone etiquette
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements
- Knowledge of medical terminology, equipment, procedures, instruments and common safety hazards and precautions
