What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant/Scribe position at Orthopedic Sports Institute?
Job Duties (may change based on experience and certifications):
- Will work in a busy Orthopedic clinic in Coeur d’Alene and Hayden Idaho.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Job Includes walking and standing for long periods of time
- Room patients, perform vitals and intake, obtaining patient's history and chief complaint.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Travel is expected to our clinic in Hayden and Coeur d’ Alene offices.
- Must be able to lift, bend, twist, stand, carry, and sit for long periods at a time
- Scribe patient visits into EMR system.
- Enter orders and prescriptions based on physician's recommendations.
- Answer phone calls and direct health care questions to licensed individuals as appropriate.
- Process incoming documents.
- Collect pre-operative data for upcoming surgeries.
- Assist in completion of forms for patients.
- Assist with prior authorizations and referrals.
- Clean exam rooms used during the clinic day.
- May at times be asked to check in patients, assist with surgery scheduling, or provide other office assistance.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/ GED
- Medical office experience required
- Medical terminology required
- Customer service experience
- Medical assisting (if applicable) CERTIFICATION NOT REQUIRED
