Job Description:
As a Medical Assistant at Orthopedic Surgical Partners, you will play a crucial role in assisting our healthcare providers and ensuring efficient patient care. Responsibilities include patient intake, medical record management, preparation for procedures, fitting orthopedic braces, and assisting with surgical scheduling and clearances. The ideal candidate will have clinical experience, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to upholding medical standards.
Responsibilities:
- Room patients, collect and enter medical history, medications, and chief complaints into EHR.
- Prepare patient charts by gathering prior medical records, office notes, radiology reports, and health history.
- Assist providers in preparing patients for examinations and procedures, including wound care and orthopedic brace fittings.
- Coordinate surgical scheduling and ensure all necessary clearances, radiology images, and authorizations are obtained.
- Manage physician referrals, including sending and receiving health information and updating patient records accordingly.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical medical experience.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional travel between locations.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends at walk-in centers.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, medical insurance requirements (including workers' compensation), and basic computer skills.
- Knowledge and adherence to HIPAA guidelines for patient confidentiality.
