What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Coordinator position at OrthoSports Associates?
OrthoSports Associates, LLC is looking for a full-time medical receptionist covering our Trussville location. This practice is busy and fast paced. Hours will be Monday — Thursday 8am - 5pm and Friday 8am-3 pm. Competitive benefits available. The practice uses Exscribe and NextGen for practice management and EMR.
Main position responsibilities include (list is not all inclusive):
- Provide a warm and welcoming first impression to all patients and visitors
- Use the computer to check in patients. Obtain, verify and update any demographic or insurance information from all patients.
- Answer all phone calls, check voice mail and return patient calls or distribute message to physician for instruction.
- Scan documents to patient’s electronic chart.
- Collect copays and balances due
- Schedule appointments within the clinic
- Schedule appointments outside the clinic
- Maintain work area keeping it organized and professional in appearance.
- Carry out other similar or related duties to ensure smooth operation of the office and optimal delivery of health care services.
- Follow clinic policies and procedures regarding HIPAA and Compliance.
Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, have at least 2 years of experience in medical office reception or other related work (preferably in orthopedics), ability to use computers and other basic office equipment.
