Overview: Ortho Sports Associates, LLC provides orthopedic care at the highest standard. Our practice consists of 11 locations in the Greater Birmingham area and across Central Alabama. What you will do:
- Interact effectively with providers, peers, patients, family members and vendors.
- Assists patients, assembles chart information, and schedules patient appointments.
- Competently and accurately obtains patient information, completes data entry, and completes registration processes.
- Quickly and efficiently responds to patient, employer, case manager, and adjuster inquires and requests.
- Works closely with adjusters and employers to make sure all provider documentation is received and sent in a timely manner
- Collect, maintain, update, and document all relevant information for the treatment of patients and payment of workers’ compensation claims.
- Verifies and documents approvals and faxes, and routes information as appropriate.
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor or physician.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent GED.
- 1 year of experience in Workers' compensation is required.
- Fundamental knowledge of the insurance industry, claims, and the insurance legal and regulatory environment is required.
- Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills.
- Must demonstrate tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions.
- Well organized, ability to multi-task, self-motivated and willing to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced level of computer skills required, including electronic medical records, fax servers, internet, spreadsheets, and Word/Excel
- Ability to responsibly handle and maintain confidential information.
