GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Staff Accountant I is responsible for daily review of vendor payments and deposits and updates of cash reconciliation files. Throughout the month, the Accountant prepares journal entries and reconciliations for intercompany accounts, reviews corporate credit card documents and prepares corresponding journal entries, reviews weekly ORS invoices and prepares journal entries and reconciliations for lobbying accounts.
Essential Duties:
- Reviews daily vendor payments. Provides consistent communication with Accounts Payable and helps provide timely feedback to staff members when reclasses are identified to ensure complete, accurate coding of invoices.
- Reviews daily bank exceptions and uploads positive pay files to bank website.
- Prepares journal entries and reconciliations for intercompany accounts across all companies. This also includes creating intercompany transfer documents for patient related transfers.
- Updates daily cash reconciliations files for OrthoIndy and OrthoIndy Hospital.
- Reviews corporate credit card documents and prepares corresponding journal entries.
- Reviews and verifies daily deposits.
- Reviews weekly ORS invoices for OrthoIndy and OrthoIndy Hospital and submits to the Chief Financial Officer.
- Responsible for journal entries and reconciliations for physician lobbying accounts.
- Assists the other Accountants and Accounting leadership with tasks related to budgets, audits, 1099 reporting, etc., as needed.
- Maintains financial records and the general ledger for smaller new entities, as assigned. Responsible for preparing and executing the month-end close process by preparing monthly general and standard journal entries, preparing quarterly distribution schedules (if applicable), maintaining fixed asset system and schedules, and performs account reconciliations for the entity on a recurring basis. Responsible for coordinating/sharing monthly financial reporting to partners as requested by leadership.

- Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent required
