Owner/Operator/Service Technician/Installer

This is a pellet stove service, repair and installation business, specializing in brands such as Quadra Fire and Harman. As a Service Technician, you will provide professional in-home service calls (repair and general maintenance) on inserts and free-standing stoves:
- Use diagnostic tools to diagnose and repair pellet stove components to resolve operating problems according to manufacturer’s specifications (including and not limited to ignition systems, gas draft pressures, venting and mechanical).
- Initiate pellet stove startups and perform homeowner orientations.
- Learn multiple product lines in order to sell after-market service parts, products and accessories to consumers.
- Maintain effective communication with internal and external customers to ensure services are completed and meet quality standards.
As an Installer of inserts and free-standing stoves:
- Measure and confirm proper fit and application to customer’s needs and desires.
- Knowledge of distances to combustibles per manufacturer’s requirements.
- Ascend 25 ft ladders to reach chimneys.
- Line chimneys with 4” vent pipe and cap accordingly (inserts).
- Build/assemble chimney vent pipe, to include wall thimbles, storm collars, flashing, wall straps/roof brackets for applications such as typical manufactured homes, attic offsets, cathedral ceiling roof supports (free standing).
- Be familiar with County Codes for direct vent applications vs. full chimney liner application.
To Get Started, You Must Be Able To:
- Obtain General Liability and Auto Insurance
- County License
- Transport Product (box truck or pickup truck and trailer {purchasing work van}) and supply your own tools
- Experience working with hand and power tools, be mechanically inclined
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Fireplace Installation, Fireplace Service, or general construction experience is a plus
- Must be able to communicate effectively with homeowners
