Ortho On-Call is a growing Urgent Care, currently recruiting a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. This position will join our exceptional team of physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and physicians, ensuring we continue to deliver quality care in a patient-focused setting. Our walk-in urgent care clinics are designed specifically to treat acute orthopedic-related injuries and conditions, supported by the board-certified physicians and full-service therapies of OrthoVirginia.

Primary Functions & Accountabilities:
- Examine, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages for immediate health care needs, including employer services.
- Handle urgent care and emergency room responsibilities, with weekend and evening shifts required.
- Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests.
- Perform fracture/dislocation reductions, laceration repairs, and joint injections.
- Instruct patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and medications.
- Consult with physicians when necessary to assess patient conditions and treatment plans.
- Ensure medical charts and administrative paperwork are completed in a timely manner.
- Perform within guidelines of specific privileges approved by the governing body and delegated by the Medical Director.
- Provide support to medical and office staff.

- Ability to assess situations and resolve within scope of ability or escalate as appropriate.
- Respond effectively to emergencies, actual events, or drills.
- Follow instructions and make decisions with little supervision.
- Maintain professional demeanor in all aspects of the role.
- Travel between facilities when indicated.
- Strong customer service and excellent communication skills.
Experience Required:
- Sports injuries, sprains & strains, slips, trips, falls
- Hand & wrist injuries, foot & ankle injuries, knee/shoulder injuries
- Cuts & lacerations, back & neck injuries, broken bones
- Sports physicals (NOVA & RIC), work-related injuries
Position Requirements:
- Board Certified/Eligible
- Prefer 2 years of orthopedic experience or practice in Emergency/Urgent Care clinical/hospital setting
- Active/current state medical license and eligible for a VA Medical License
- DEA License
- Physical health to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position
