Position Summary :
Radiology Assistant's at OrthoVirginia, play a vital role in supporting our radiology team to ensure a safe, smooth, and patient-centered experience. They greet and prepare patients for x-ray procedures, assist the radiologic technologist during exams, and be attentive to patient and team needs, especially in emergencies. You'll also manage imaging requests, prepare patient supplies, and contribute to clinic support tasks, such as stocking and cleaning. Job Description / Duties :
- Assist in maintaining patient and team safety in x-ray environment
- Introduce yourself to patient, ensure they are changed / dressed appropriately, and escort them to x-ray room
- Prepare patients for x-ray if they are not dressed appropriately- provide shorts, gown, have them remove jewelry, etc.
- Assist radiologic technologist with exam if needed to maintain patient care and efficiencies
- Remain alert to radiologic technologist and patient needs in case of emergency
- When requested by outside facilities or patients, provide imaging studies on Cd, properly document completion of requested tasks
- Import / export CDs using OV PACs system
- Maintain patient care and cleaning supplies, including but not limited to : exam linens, gloves, disinfecting wipes, pillow cases / covers, etc.
