What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Technician - Rochester Area position at Orville's Appliance Inc?
The Service Technician performs routine diagnostics and repairs on major appliances in the field.
Position Accountabilities:
- Prescreening of customer inquiries submitted by Customer Service Representative in order to identify if service is eligible.
- Identify functional failure of appliance through effective diagnosis testing.
- Advising Parts Manager on specific appliance part required once diagnosis testing completed successfully.
- Responsible for the replacement of appliance parts in safe and correct manner.
- Coordinate additional repair assistance with manufacturers, if necessary.
- Providing customer timely updates on the repair process.
- Documenting all necessary steps of repair process, from time the requisition was received to when service finalized.
- Any and all other duties as assigned by manager.
Position Requirements:
- 1-2 years of relevant experience.
- High School Diploma OR G.E.D. Equivalent.
- Ability to troubleshoot and actively identify operational malfunctions independently.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work in fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated and demonstrated attention to detail.
- Proficient in use of diagnostic equipment technology.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and schematics.
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting of objects between 50-100 lbs. as well as frequent periods of kneeling, standing, sitting, and crouching.
Rate of Pay:
$25 -$35 DOE
