Position Overview :
The Science and Technology (S&T) Protection Specialist will support AFWERX’s Security Branch (RGOS) in providing security protection for technologies and related information across various classification levels. This position involves developing and evaluating security risk assessments, providing technical security advice, and ensuring effective S&T protection planning for all projects. The S&T Protection Specialist will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to protect critical technologies and assist in certification and accreditation processes.
Key Responsibilities :
- S &T Protection Planning & Security Requirements :
- Assist in identifying and validating security requirements for S&T Protection Plans.
- Provide guidance on ensuring the protection of technologies and related information at various classification levels.
- Risk Assessments & Mitigation Plans :
- Develop or evaluate security risk assessments and analyses for programs, projects, or technology areas.
- Provide recommendations for risk mitigation strategies to address vulnerabilities and threats.
- Technology Control & Oversight :
- Provide security oversight for all aspects of technology control and S&T protection planning.
- Assist in the development of certification and accreditation documents to ensure compliance with security standards.
- Technical Security Advisory :
- Serve as a technical security advisor to both internal and external entities, offering expertise on protection architecture.
- Assist in identifying security gaps and providing solutions to address security risks affecting S&T projects and technologies.
