Position Description:
We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer Architect to join our team, providing expert-level support in designing, implementing, and securing network infrastructure for a high-security government environment. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in enterprise networking, network security, and architectural design within classified environments. This role requires an active TS/SCI clearance and a strong background in designing and managing secure, mission-critical networks.
As a Senior Network Engineer Architect, you will be responsible for leading network infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) security protocols, and optimizing network performance for classified operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level network architectures, ensuring security, scalability, and efficiency.
Develop and enforce network security policies, ensuring compliance with DoD regulations.
Perform risk assessments, vulnerability management, and mitigation strategies for classified network environments.
Lead network troubleshooting efforts, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to ensure network reliability.
Work with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and optimize existing network infrastructure.
Maintain detailed network documentation, including diagrams, security controls, and change management logs.
Provide mentorship and training to junior network engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
Monitor network performance, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks and security risks.
Stay up to date on emerging networking technologies and DoD cybersecurity policies to enhance the network infrastructure.
Required Qualifications:
Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to maintain it in valid status.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
10 years of experience in enterprise network engineering and architecture.
Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, CISSP, or equivalent.
Strong experience with Cisco, Juniper, and/or Palo Alto network devices.
Proficiency in routing and switching protocols, including BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.
Experience designing and implementing Zero Trust architectures and Software-Defined Networking (SDN) solutions.
Understanding of DoD security frameworks, including STIGs, RMF, and NIST guidelines.
Experience with network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field.
Experience working in government or defense environments.
Familiarity with firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and network segmentation strategies.
Experience with cloud networking architectures (AWS, Azure, GovCloud).
Work Environment & Requirements:
Location: Colorado Springs, CO – On-site presence required.
Must be willing to work occasional after-hours shifts or on-call rotations as needed.
Travel may be required for site visits and security audits.
