Speech-Language Pathologist/Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant

TEACHER REQUIREMENTS :

Interested applicants should have, or be able to obtain, certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist OR Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant. Requirements will be based on the applicant's certification.

JOB DESCRIPTION :

The candidate will be responsible for providing services to students in PreK-12th grade who qualify for Speech and / or Language services approximately 3 days a week at Osage Co. R-II. No case management.

SCHOOL DISTRICT INFORMATION

Osage County R-2 School is a K-12 School located in Linn, Mo. It is approximately a 30-minute drive from Jefferson City on Hwy 50. We are a 4-day school week, operating Tuesday through Friday.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT :

Part-Time; August through May

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :

Implement the policies of the Board of Education.

Communicate appropriately with supervisors, other employees, students, and visitors.

Maintain a friendly and helpful environment.

Maintain an acceptable standard of personal appearance.

Obtain / maintain full state certification for assigned subject areas.

Implement lessons that support the state-mandated courses, the state's tested curriculum, and locally- determined courses.

Evaluate, record, and report student academic and social growth within the guidelines prescribed in state law or adopted by the school district.

Identify areas of student concern and cooperate with other professional staff members in addressing those areas of concern.

Communicate with parents / guardians regarding student progress.

Participate in the identification of at-risk and gifted students and implement steps to meet their individual needs.

Help students become proficient in using basic technological equipment.

Participate cooperatively with the Special Education Director in accordance with the district's teacher evaluation process.

Assume responsibility for tasks other than those listed which may be assigned by a supervisor.
