The Dental Assistant role is to perform all routine and advanced chairside functions while providing efficient and high-quality care to patients.

Qualifications

• Must hold an Oklahoma Dental Permit from the Oklahoma Board of Dentistry
• Must be a Certified Dental Assistant in the state of Oklahoma
• At least 1-2 years’ experience in a dental office environment required
• Must maintain a professional attitude and appearance that positively represents the Nation
• Knowledge of HIPPA and Privacy Act
• Knowledge of dental anatomy and radiographic techniques in order to correctly expose, process and mount radiographs preferred
• Knowledge of dental terminology in order to accurately record treatment and examination information to patient file, and ability to file and retrieve patient records preferred
• Knowledge and skill of tooth isolation techniques required to maintain a dry field for placement of restorations and sealants preferred
• Knowledge to sterilize dental instruments and keep clinic clean and presentable to clients required
• Requires a high level of personal integrity and ethics
• Requires a high level of problem solving skills
• Must maintain confidentiality at all times
• Requires ability to use Microsoft Office Suite programs
• Requires good interpersonal communication and team work skills
• Requires willingness and ability to learn new skills, including travel to conferences and training sessions
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
• Must be able to pass drug/alcohol testing
• Must have a clean driving record – may be required to drive GSA or tribal vehicles
