What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Engineer position at OSC Edge?
As a Network Engineer, the individual will work with the Senior Network Engineer to conduct technical tasks, network monitoring and control, technical support including troubleshooting and resolving maintenance issues for all systems in the network. In this role, the Engineer will configure and install networking hardware / software replacements and upgrades minimize downtime, and other reporting as required. Additionally, the individual will work with other team engineers to develop programmatic actions and minimize security risks.
Responsibilities :
- Utilize networking tools such as ISE, FORESCOUT, SCOM, DXNetOps, AirWave, and CA Spectrum to monitor a 24-hour enterprise of 90,000 customers and 700 locations across the United States and select oversea locations
- Switching : Trunk ports, port security, IoS Configuration, Equipment RMA
- Routing : ISP connectivity, BGP, OSPF, Equipment RMA, LAN / WAN performance and connectivity
- Aruba Wireless : whitelisting, provisioning and troubleshooting connectivity issues
- Conduct regular network maintenance to ensure optimal performance and security
- Analyze data traffic patterns to identify potential bottlenecks or inefficiencies in system architecture
- DHCP reservations of IDS, Printers, APs and various devices
- Knowledge of DOD documentation and networks
- Knowledge of ServiceNow / AESMP ticketing system, including escalations, rerouting and documentation of tickets
- Assist with coordination / reporting of WAN events. Initial troubleshooting of network outages in Layer 1 and 2
- Performs other tasks as required by OSC and the Government contracting office
