What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Manager position at OSC Edge?
As the Operations Manager, the individual will be responsible for the successful execution of the Infrastructure Support Facilities Services Program operations. In this role the Operation Manager will also serve as the Deputy Program Manager. The Operations Manager is a representative of the company and shall have organizational authority to execute the requirements and serves as the senior authority on the program/contract. In this role, the Operations Manager will provide direction, prioritization, coordination, and conflict resolution while managing project teams that accomplish project objectives. The Operations Manager will also oversee communications and required reporting to ensure both compliance and relationship building with the end customer as well as ensuring that program deliverables and deadlines are met. In addition, this position will provide leadership and guidance for all contractor personnel and be responsible for culturally assimilating all personnel into the desired OSC Edge customer first culture.
This position requires onsite 5 days a week
Responsibilities
- Provide coordination & oversight for the operations of the Facilities and Power Teams supporting the program. This includes 25-30 employees across multiple companies
- Organize program work utilizing the program plan and monitoring approach.
- Lead and mentor direct reports and maintain consistency and quality of services and solution implementations
- Work with Government Leadership to look for ways to enhance processes/solutions supporting the day-to-day challenges. Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (Wis) as needed to document the processes. As needed, train existing and new employees on processes
- Identify/recommend ways to improve/streamline current operations
- Provide guidance, quality management and control of solution implementation by on-site personnel to include subcontractors
- Resolve customer and team member issues to ensure requirements and expectations are defined and met
- Lead management, program team and customer meetings and document meeting minutes
- Coordinates and escalates break/fix outages impacting IT facilities and power infrastructure within the Pentagon, Mark Center, and National Capital Region
- Monitor actual progress, compare to baseline, and report progress against schedule as well as analyze and report trends or schedule risk
- Approve timesheets and leave requests for OSC Edge personnel
- Support contractual deliverable submission, to include data gathering and presentation within daily, monthly, and annual deliverables
- Provide employees with regular communications and support employee development opportunities as required
- Act as Deputy Program Manager in absence of Program Manager, and support Program Manager as needed
- Performs other tasks as required by OSC and the Government contracting office.
- Supports employee onboarding and offboarding efforts
- Coordinates facilities and power initiatives, to include preventative and corrective maintenance for facility security system, fire marshal inspections, lighting, fire extinguishers, HVAC systems, cleaning, etc.
- All other duties assigned by OSC and governing contract office
Required Qualifications/Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree is required or 5 years experience (preferably in Information Technology, Information Management, or Cyber Security).
- Must possess and maintain a CompTIA Security certification.
- Experience working within the DoD IT environment. 3-5 years of experience or more strongly preferred.
- Prior experience managing 10 or more IT professionals and financial success of the organizational unit.
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities, resources, customers, and managers with a focus on consistency and accuracy.
- Prior experience as senior-level project manager with a demonstrated ability to lead.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Strong ability to work with all levels of management.
- Experience in implementing DOD specific IT policies, processes, and procedures with reference to their area of expertise.
- Familiarity with DOD security requirements as applied to their subject matter expertise.
- Demonstrated excellence in planning, directing, and managing Infrastructure Support Services IT projects/operations.
- Must have knowledge of industry accepted standards and best practices related to 24x7 operations environment.
- Must possess Knowledge of DOD network and system security requirements.
- Demonstrated experience with the ITIL framework (currently v3)
- Must have and maintain a Secret personnel clearance. Top Secret with SCI eligibility strongly preferred.
