What are the responsibilities and job description for the Strategic Planner position at OSC Edge?
As the Strategic Planner, the individual will provide project development and solution scoping. In this role, the Strategic Planner will provide creative solutions by staying up to date on emerging technologies to be applied. In addition, the individual will manage across the various points in product lifecycle utilizing effective project and business management skills. Also, the Strategic Planner is responsible for driving the execution of multiple business plans and initiatives across the team and cross-functional workgroups.
Responsibilities:
- Provides strategic planning of large projects or a significant segment of a strategic planning portion of a large, complex project
- Provides the overall approach to clarify mission statements so they can be used as springboards in envisioning their desired future
- Assists in developing mission and vision statements and subsequent goal delineation
- Assists in the preparation of key strategic planning documentation (including plan templates in MS Word, strategy/development presentation decks in MS PPT, and metrics reporting dashboards in MS Excel)
- Assists in the management of third-party vendors and ensure business needs are being met
- Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, vision, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
- Planning and organizing project schedules & timelines
- Assess project and resource requirements
- Ensures customer satisfaction
- Tracking and Monitoring progress towards organizational goals
- Analyzes risks and proper documentation
- Supports the CIO in responding to a wide range of requests, including requests from the CIO and Program Offices, or from Department-level Offices, or Congress.
- Proactively monitors policy developments that may have an impact on CIO areas of responsibility.
- Supports the design and implementation of organizational structures
- Identifies formal and informal communications channels and protocols
- Reviews alternative organizational CIO Support
- Reviews the effectiveness of existing organizational structures
- Supports the design and implementation of NEW technologies
- Supports the publication of formal changes to organizational structures
- Performs other tasks as required by OSC and the Government contracting office
Required Qualifications/Education and Experience:
- Must have and maintain a Secret personnel clearance
- Associates degree in related discipline
- 4 years’ experience in related field
- 10 years’ experience working in DoD environment
- Experience working with Microsoft suite applications.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented who knows how to manage overlapping projects and keep track of deadlines
- Hands on experience with data analysis
- Experience with writing standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Embrace teambuilding and possess interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical thinker with problem-solving skills and mathematical abilities
- Great communicator who is persuasive and good at presenting information
- Above-average ability to adapt and be flexible to drive change from the business perspective
- Understanding of how to work in settings that present vague product parameters
- Experience conducting and facilitating workshops and collaborative working sessions with senior government leadership
- Capable of creative problem solving and identifying tangible outputs to reach product implementation
- Dedicates time to listen to experts across the company, understand a variety of perspectives and strive to expand context every day
- Demonstrates an affinity for constantly being curious and exploring alternatives to clients’ issues. This includes demonstrating tenacity and creative thinking to solve intractable business problems systemically
- Ability to balance curiosity with pragmatism. This skill requires the ability to recognize organizational dynamics and industry constraints that influence recommendations
- Demonstrates an understanding of the challenges facing organizations to adopt new technologies
