Chief Technology Officer

About the Role:

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will play a critical role in driving the technological vision and success of the company. This is a hands-on leadership position that requires a strong technical background, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a passion for education. The CTO will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's technology strategy, from product development and engineering to IT infrastructure and cybersecurity.

Responsibilities:

• Technology Strategy & Roadmap:




• Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives.


• Define and prioritize technology initiatives and roadmaps to support product innovation and growth.


• Conduct market research and technology assessments to identify emerging trends and technologies that can be leveraged to gain a competitive advantage.




• Product Development & Engineering:




• Lead and mentor a high-performing team of engineers, including software engineers, data scientists, and DevOps engineers.


• Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from concept and design to development, testing, and deployment.


• Ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of software products and services.


• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering team.




• IT Infrastructure & Operations:




• Design, implement, and maintain a robust and scalable IT infrastructure to support the company's growing needs.


• Ensure the security and reliability of all company data and systems.


• Implement and maintain appropriate cybersecurity measures to protect the company from cyber threats.


• Manage IT budgets and resources effectively.




• Data & Analytics:




• Leverage data and analytics to drive product decisions and improve business outcomes.


• Develop and implement data-driven strategies for user acquisition, engagement, and retention.


• Build and maintain data pipelines and dashboards to provide valuable insights into user behavior and product performance.




• Leadership & Management:




• Build and lead a high-performing technology team.


• Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.


• Mentor and develop the skills of direct reports.


• Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.


• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, partners, and customers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).


• 10 years of experience in software engineering and product development.


• 5 years of experience in a leadership role (e.g., CTO, VP of Engineering).


• Proven experience in building and scaling high-growth technology companies.


• Strong technical expertise in relevant technologies, including cloud computing (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform), data warehousing, and big data analytics.


• Experience with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).


• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.


• Strong leadership, mentorship, and team-building skills.


• Passion for education and a strong desire to make a positive impact on the world.
