Principal Objective of Position:
The Outside Sales Manager, OSM, is responsible for growing relationships with target customers, cultivating relationships with new customers, generating new revenue and new business through networking, lead generation, and other various mediums and providing the customer with the best possible customer service.
Essential Functions:

- Generate revenue from new customers and new business opportunities.
- Travel to customers’ locations to meet customer contacts on a regular basis.
- Conduct calls and face-to-face meetings with customers to increase sales and grow relationships.
- Collaborate with the management team and production to ensure quality products are being delivered to customers.
- Provide customer feedback to the management team regarding quality, market intel and on time delivery.
- Maintain accurate and timely customer records in Salesforce.
- Send customer inquiries/quotes to Inside Sales Representative for entry into the quoting system.
- Responds to customer inquiries, questions, or complaints, if the need requires research and coordination of information from several different areas, pass it on to the ISR.
Other Responsibilities:
- Other duties as assigned.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the metals market and future forecasts.
- Forecast customer metals needs.
- Develop pricing strategies for each customer.
- Stay abreast of industry trends to identify potential opportunities for company growth.
- Generate new leads and cultivate new prospective business with key customers.
Work Environment:
- Office environment
- Will be required to tour customer and prospective customers’ facilities.
- Must be able to travel a minimum of 50% of the time.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent combination of experience and education required.
- Minimum of 4 years past sales experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing and/or metal fabrication processes.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with little direction.
- Ability to manage competing demands on time, schedule, display flexibility and adaptability to unexpected changes and delays.
- Ability to manage time, schedule effectively and efficiently.
- Ability to communicate effectively, professionally, and efficiently.
- Ability to communicate with various levels and with different types of people internally and externally to create and build lasting relationships.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to communicate technical information verbally and in writing.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Must Pass MVR Requirements
