Position Overview : We are seeking an Energy Safety Director to lead safety operations for a prominent electric utility in Pennsylvania. This role involves overseeing safety across power generation, transmission, and distribution, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and fostering a safety-first culture.
Responsibilities :
Develop and maintain safety programs ensuring compliance with OSHA, NERC, and other standards.
Lead safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections to mitigate hazards.
Manage and train the safety team, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Oversee training programs, particularly on electrical safety, high-voltage systems, and power distribution.
Monitor safety performance, track metrics, and present findings to leadership.
Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Collaborate with teams to promote safety culture across all operations.
Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 7 years in safety leadership within the energy or electric utility industry.
Strong knowledge of OSHA, NERC, and electric utility safety standards.
Proven experience managing safety programs in high-risk environments.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CHST) preferred.
