Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations and maintenance of solar utility power plants and battery energy storage systems (BESS), ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with standards.
Supervise and support field personnel to maximize system performance and reliability.
Lead site safety initiatives, training programs, and accident prevention efforts.
Manage equipment maintenance, tool control, and spare parts inventory.
Troubleshoot and resolve system issues using advanced electrical testing tools (e.g., multimeters, meggers, amp clamps).
Conduct and document inspections, work orders, service reports, and personnel scheduling.
Mentor and train Solar Technicians, promoting ongoing professional development and safety compliance.
Qualifications:
Valid driver's license is required.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in solar utility power plant operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Strong background in plant operations, high voltage switching, and corrective maintenance/repairs.
Hands-on experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) troubleshooting and maintenance.
Familiarity with SCADA systems and interpreting plant performance data.
Skilled in maintaining auxiliary equipment such as mowers, tractors, and multi-hogs.
Experience serving as a switchman or working in substation environments.
Proven leadership and team management experience across different personnel levels, including external contractors.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with varied scopes and timelines.
Strong planning and scheduling skills, capable of overseeing weekly to annual maintenance and operations plans.
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and respond to urgent needs on short notice.
