General Description of Duties :
Under the direction of the Communications Director, the AV Production Engineer is responsible for managing, operating, and maintaining audio-visual systems in the Osceola County Commission Chambers. This role involves ensuring the seamless execution of all meetings and events held in the Chambers, including live streaming, real-time production, and recording of Board of County Commission meetings. The position requires expertise in AV systems, live event production, and troubleshooting to deliver high-quality audio, video, and broadcast services.
The AV Production Engineer collaborates with County staff, elected officials, and public participants to integrate presentation materials, support hybrid and remote participation, and address technical issues. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Job Functions
- Oversees live production and streaming of Board of County Commission (BOCC) and other public meetings using systems such as NewTek, TriCaster, and Crestron control panels or other similar equipment.
- Operates, monitors, and maintains all AV systems, including microphones, amplifiers, DSPs, projectors, and video cameras.
- Troubleshoots real-time technical issues during live meetings to ensure uninterrupted audio, video, and streaming quality.
- Integrates hybrid and remote participants into meetings using video conferencing platforms such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
- Configures and optimizes DSPs (e.g., Biamp, QSC) to eliminate feedback and ensure audio clarity.
- Manages the routing of AV signals through systems such as Extron DTP CrossPoint matrix switchers.
- Prepares and tests AV systems before meetings, ensuring all equipment is operational and presentation materials are integrated.
- Collaborates with County staff, public speakers, and external vendors to support meeting and event requirements.
- Updates software and firmware for AV equipment to maintain optimal performance and security.
- Creates and maintains documentation, including system diagrams, signal flows, and maintenance logs.
- Provides training for staff and officials on the use of AV systems and technologies.
Minimum Qualifications
Education : High School Diploma or GED.
Experience : Three (3) years of experience in live event production, AV systems operation, or a similar technical role.
Miscellaneous : Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License.
