Instructional-Other-CTE-Transition Career Exploration Class

To introduce, plan, and implement specialized career education opportunities for students

with significant cognitive/learning disabilities. Assist in the assessment, planning,

development, implementation, and evaluation of the overall management of the oTECH Transitional

program instructional curriculum.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To maintain a valid Florida Teaching Certificate or VOC 7/CTE License.
• To conform to all rules and regulations that may be prescribed by the State Board of Education; and
  
  

conform to the rules and regulation that may be prescribed by the School Board where such rules and

regulations are not inconsistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

• To use prescribed materials and methods in the efficient execution of his/her teaching duties according to
  
  

subject area or grade level to which assigned.

• To prepare and maintain such records and reports as may be required by State and Federal law,
  
  

regulations of the State Board, School Board, or School Administration.

• To fulfill the term of any signed written contract, unless released from such contract by the School Board.
• Assist in the planning and implementation of internships, intensive career observations and on-the-job
  
  

training opportunities and to assist students with job placement.

• Incorporate vocational speakers, activities, and trips for students.
• To perform other duties as assigned by the Director or program coordinator.
• Initiate and manage the instructional material adoption process related to the appropriate content area.
• Advocate for the effective participation in Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO) by teachers
  
  

and students.

• Promote employability skills training and job awareness by presenting regular classroom career
  
  

enhancement programs and providing teacher training.

• Ensure that Transitional 504 students have equal access to instruction and materials related
  
  

to the appropriate content area.

• Participate in the reporting and sharing of program evaluation data, and coordinate the timely submission
  
  

of all required performance reports documenting progress of project goals.
