Description
OE Solar is an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor operating out of Albuquerque, New Mexico. We offer a comprehensive spectrum of services for sustainable green construction projects including solar, battery energy storage systems and electric vehicle chargers.
This position touches all aspects of our projects, from concept designs to creating construction plan sets. This role primarily focuses would be to create Autocad drawings based on feedback and knowledge from the team. You would work on battery energy storage systems (BESS), electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, and solar PV systems (both grid-tied and off-grid / stand-alone). Key responsibilities include creating detailed system designs, drafting AHJ plan sets, and producing construction drawings.? This is a great entry level position for anyone that loves drafting and wants to learn more about the solar industry.
A secondary focus of this position is staying informed about emerging technologies, equipment, and system modeling advancements. The ability to research and apply new innovations will enhance the quality and effectiveness of OE Solar's designs.?
In this role you will learn about what local AHJ requirements are and how to satisfy them, utility interconnection processes, and industry standards, including UL listings, NEC, and NABCEP codes.
The following is a list of key tasks and responsibilities associated with this role at OE Solar :
- Create detailed technical drawings and plans using CAD software
- Collaborate with engineers, Sales Team and PM's to create auto card drawings.
- Incorporate design specifications
- Take direction as it is given
- Review and revise drawings based on feedback from project stakeholders
- Edit plans so that they meet industry standards and AHJ and ICA requirements
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Calculate dimensions, weights, and quantities for accurate construction and manufacturing
- Maintain updated records of all drawings and revisions
- Assist in the development of auto card templates
- Conduct field visits to gather measurements and notes for project accuracy
- Prepare documentation and reports related to drafting activities
- Create and update as-built drawings to reflect changes made during the construction process.
- Work with field teams to ensure all modifications and adjustments are accurately documented.
- Regularly update stakeholders (engineers, PMs, clients) on the status of drafting tasks, any challenges encountered, and next steps.
- Ensure that any changes in scope or deadlines are communicated to all relevant parties.
