Job Summary

OMC, a rural hospital dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare services to underserved communities, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Family Medicine Provider with Obstetrics (OB) experience to join our team. This full-time position offers an opportunity to work in a close-knit, supportive environment while making a significant impact on the health and wellbeing of our rural population. The ideal candidate will be passionate about primary care, have strong clinical skills, and demonstrate the ability to provide comprehensive care to patients of all ages, including OB services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to a diverse population, including infants, children, adults, and elderly patients.
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions, both independently and in collaboration with other healthcare providers.
  • Perform routine physical exams, wellness check-ups, immunizations, preventive screenings, and health education.
  • Manage and follow up on patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and heart disease.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using the hospital’s electronic health record (EHR) system - EPIC.
  • Educate patients and their families about health management, and preventive care
  • Participate in community outreach programs to promote wellness and preventive healthcare.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and ethical standards.

Qualifications

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience working as a family medicine Provider
  • Board Certification or eligibility in Family Medicine (or equivalent).
  • Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in Minnesota.
  • CPR and ACLS certification (or willing to obtain).
  • Previous experience in a family medicine or primary care setting, preferably in a rural or underserved community, is highly preferred.
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to connect with patients and their families.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other healthcare providers.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work in an unpredictable, resource-constrained setting.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with rural healthcare challenges and resource limitations.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems. EPIC experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of telemedicine practices and technologies.
