What are the responsibilities and job description for the Phlebotomist - Casual/PRN position at Osceola Medical Center?
The phlebotomist functions as a liaison between the laboratory and patients. The phlebotomist performs specimen collection, specimen processing, data entry and limited laboratory testing. This position is responsible for blood collections, by venipuncture and capillary technique, and non-blood collections from patients of all age groups. Ability to work in a team environment and provide excellent customer service a must.

Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent, required.
- Prior experience in phlebotomy, laboratory or healthcare related job, preferred.
- Proficiency in starting IVs, preferred.
Responsibilities Include:
- Collecting and processing specimens using appropriate technique.
- Performing testing and verifying assay/analyzer performance.
- Perming testing in any of the following areas: hematology, coagulation, microbiology, chemistry, urinalysis and transfusion medicine.
- Documenting and communicating lab test results thoroughly and accurately.
- Performing and documenting assay/analyzer maintenance.
