Job Description:
The Osceola School District is seeking a highly qualified team member to support the 1.0 School Psychologist position. This individual would join a team of administration, Special Education Coordinators, Diagnostic Specialist and Special Education teachers who support the overall assessment, diagnostic and intervention of potential special education services for initial and re-evaluation services to begin in the 2025-26 school year. Responsibilities include, but not limited to assessment, consultation, intervention, prevention, education, research, and planning. Successful candidates will be responsible for the clinical evaluation portion of new referrals for potential special education services and for re-evaluations of current special education caseloads. School Psychologist will be an active member of the IEP team; work cooperatively with the school staff and administration and Diagnostic Specialist; possess quality communication skills; and be an integral member of the special education team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Participation in Student of Concern (SOC) to identify and assess early identification of the learning, development and adjustment characteristics and needs of individuals as well as the environmental factors that affect learning and adjustment - Participate and advise in the problem-solving process for students of concern
- Collaboratively works with the principal and administration to support students in need within the building.
- Completes referrals and paperwork according to federal, state and district timelines
- Conduct assessments appropriate to the focus of concern and according to prevailing professional standards
- Participate as a member of the IEP team by contributing evaluation findings and collaborating on the child's educational plan
- Ability to facilitate meetings and/or present information in a group setting
- Ability to apply in-depth knowledge of special education record-keeping, principles, practices, and procedures
- Ability to apply in-depth knowledge of current technology
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with subordinates, other staff, other agencies, and the public
- Ability to analyze complicated special education needs & situations and provide sound advice and recommendations
- Knowledge of assessments and evaluations of students ages birth through 21
- Possess and demonstrate positive interpersonal communication skills
- Maintain confidentiality regarding internal matters of the Agency and comply with legal confidentiality requirements
- Evaluates effectiveness of interventions and modified interventions based on data collected
- Provide short-term counseling and crisis intervention services as needed
- Applies ethics and standards of professional practice in the delivery of psychological services and observes relevant laws that govern practice
- 504 Coordination
- Ability to understand students’ self-regulation and sensory needs
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Collaborate with multiple teams, such as the Leadership Team, PLC Leaders and PLCs, to help all students
- Ability to establish strong working relationships with parents, students and staff
- Perform other duties as needed

Pay: $47,036.00 - $78,622.00 per year
