What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paraprofessional - Richardson Elementary School position at Oscoda Area Schools?
The Paraprofessional assists the building in a wide variety of support services including providing related supplemental instructional services at the direction of a highly-qualified teacher. In addition to instructional support, Paraprofessionals provide student supervision during passing times, lunch and recess periods, and other portions of the day as directed. Specifically, the following outline the essential duties of the role:
- Monitor student completion of various classroom assignments
- Provide direct individual instructional support to students under the direction of a highly qualified teacher.
- Assist in the maintenance of individual student progress records.
- Participate in necessary training at the direction of the building principals.
- Perform other Title I duties as assigned.
- Manage student classroom activities outside of classroom instruction
- Perform classroom maintenance as required.
- Assist with the organization of daily classroom schedules and events calendars.
- Implement rules of student conduct.
- Maintain order in the educational environment.
- Assist students with problem solving when adjustment and academic problems arise.
- Maintain school records as required
- Perform or assist physical management of students in crisis and when in danger or hurting themselves or others.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must have an Associate’s Degree or higher
OR
60 credit hours from a degree granting institution
OR
Michigan Test for Teacher Certification (MTTC Basic Skills)
OR
ETS Parapro Assessment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $12.90 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
