JOB SPECIFICS

• A Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) is a highly trained and specialized provider who provides compassionate expert level care to aid the recovery of patients who are victims of sexual assault. The SANE promotes and restores patient health and wellness while collaborating with providers and the multidisciplinary team across the care continuum. This position cares for sexual assault patients primarily in the Emergency Department as needed by assessing and supporting physical symptoms while providing psychological support to patients, friends, and families. This position will be in addition to all other employment obligations on the home department and will comply with state law and OSF HealthCare policy when offering medical-forensic care to patients.
• Perform patient assessment and assign diagnosis based on recorded assessment data and current scientific and current research.
• Establish plan of care and implement interventions in accordance with care paths, protocols, standards of care and current research.
• Provide education and counseling to patients, families and groups.
• Clinic hours are Monday – Friday 7:30-6 pm.

• Clinical base hourly pay range for this position: $55.20-$62.65 hr
  • Range shown should be used as an estimate and can be impacted by many factors including but not limited to the critical need of the position, overall experience and qualifications, community need, and other considerations. Additional compensation components may be applicable such as bonuses or incentives which may or may not be based on metric achievement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s degree or higher in nursing or physician assistant studies from an accredited program
• PMHNP Certification
• Current Illinois license as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant
• Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
• Minimum of two years of experience as an APP in Behavioral Health or a related field required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
• Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems
