What are the responsibilities and job description for the Biomed Equipment Tech (BMET) position at OSF HealthCare?
Expected pay for this position is $30.58 - $35.98/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Biomedical Equipment Technician II (BMETII) performs scheduled maintenance and repairs of a wide variety of medical devices ranging from basic medical technology to sophisticated systems. Examples of these medical devices are; Networked physiological monitoring systems, defibrillators, Medical Laboratory equipment, various Respiratory Therapy equipment, specialized surgical systems, basic X-ray systems, Ultrasound, etc. The BMET II will also provide the following services; incoming equipment inspections, installation, recall & alert activities and calibration & repair of medical devices.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education/Experience: High School Diploma, Certification from AAMI/ DOD, and 4 years of experience in Electronic, Mechanical, IT, or Healthcare industry OR Associates Degree and 3 years of experience in Electronic, Mechanical, IT, or Healthcare industry
- Experience: Human Anatomy and Physiology Medical Terminology Advanced Biomedical Equipment Service “vendor” training (Patient monitoring, electrosurgical, infusion).
- Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree
- Experience: Military Training in Technical Field Medical Device
- Experience Licensure/Certifications: CBET or CLES Certification
