Expected pay for this position is $29.01 - $34.13/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is a salaried position.
Overview
This position wil offer full remote provided the incumbent is near an OSF HealthCare location. Will be required to on-site quarterly at ministry headquarters. Potential in office for business needs/IT issues but this should be very rare.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Research Business Coordinator I plays a pivotal role in facilitating the study start-up and amendment processes, ensuring efficient intake, submission, and review of essential materials while collaborating with external vendors and cross-functional teams to navigate the financial intricacies inherent in clinical research within a niche industry. They manage Electronic Medical Record (EMR) research functions, oversee post-award financial activities for industry and grant studies, and compile and analyze data to generate comprehensive reports, adhering to unique regulations governing the specialized field. Additionally, they review patients' claims in EMR to maintain compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, federal research billing rules, and industry regulations. The position involves active participation in special projects, quality assurance, and internal audits related to clinical trial finance, along with providing education and support to research operations staff. They also contribute to policy and procedure development, maintain financial systems software, and oversee the redlining process and execution of research-related confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, ensuring effective communication of system enhancements and upgrades to all research teams.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Associate’s degree in Biological/Life Sciences, Business Administration, Finance/Accounting, or other closely related field.
Experience: Two years healthcare, research (clinical and/or administration), general finance/accounting, and/or business administrative experience.
Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented. Demonstrated ability to gather, assemble, interpret, and use complex data to develop actionable steps that will improve processes and optimize results. Team building and change management. Customer Service.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Biological/Life Sciences, Business Administration, Finance/Accounting, or other closely related field
Experience: Research Administration and Regulations within our niche industry Medicare Clinical Trial Policy, Medicare billing rules, Medicare Coverage Analysis within our specialized regulatory framework. Clinical trial budget development and negotiations. Navigating an Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Revenue cycle management. Research-related coding with a deep understanding of our industry’s coding standards. Accounts receivable and Accounts payable experience. Service line profitability and margin reporting. Project Management/Strategic Planning. Policy/Standard Operating Procedure Writing/Maintenance. Experience in large, multicenter health system. Licensure/ Certification: Any research-related certification.
