Upon completion of the Rock Valley College CNA program, education stipend recipients will enter a Patient Care Technician, or other role requiring a CNA certification at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center.
The Patient Care Technician functions as a member of the Patient Care Team and provides appropriate safe basic care to patients.
Cares provided are determined based on the ages of the patients served. Basic care includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical / emotional changes.
Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and functioning as a Behavioral Health Monitor.
Behavioral health Monitors are responsible for providing safe, appropriate, and timely monitoring of the medical patient.
Recipients will have a 2 year work commitment to OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center working as a Patient Care Technician.
