What are the responsibilities and job description for the College and Medical Center Librarian position at OSF HealthCare?
Expected pay for this position is $26.46 - $31.13/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
POSITION SUMMARY: The College and Medical Center Librarian collaborates with library leadership regarding development and implementation of the academic medical center library collection and services. Provides all aspects of library activities including cataloging, shelving, circulation, acquisitions and deletions, and client services. Collaborates with all applicable personnel to facilitate achievement of computer and information literacy of all library patrons. Investigates the possibility of incorporating new library technology and services into all areas of library services. Responsible for ensuring the library is in compliance with all regulatory agencies. Works effectively with administration, faculty, students, and staff to promote library patron and student success.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Master's Degree in Library Sciences
- Experience: 2 years librarian experience
- Experience using one of the following: Medline, OVID Technologies, OCLC, database searching techniques
- Other skills/knowledge: Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience: 3 years of experience working in a medical library setting.
Other requirements/information:
- Requires knowledge office procedures and, in particular, the administration of a college and academic medical center library
- Knowledge of nationally recognized standards of information literacy (set by the Association of College and Research Libraries)
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with diverse range of individuals and groups
- Analytical skills necessary to maintain and analyze an academic library collection
