Salary range for this position is $26.46 - $31.13/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Coordinator Admissions LTAC (Long Term Acute Care) and SWING manages the internal and external referral and admissions system for the post-acute level of care based established criteria. The position is responsible for completing the entire admission process including identifying potential patient referrals, reviewing the patient's clinical and social situation, reviewing the patient's benefits, and obtaining insurance authorization. Develops and maintains customer relations with internal and external referral sources. Demonstrates accountability for program development, quality improvement, problem solving and productivity enhancement in an interdisciplinary model and ongoing evaluation of the admission process.
(SWING: a hospital or critical access hospital with a Medicare agreement can "swing" it's beds and provice either acute hospital or SNF-level care as needed)
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor Degree in healthcare field
Experience: 3 years' experience in referral management and insurance authorization.
Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented. Independent judgment and decision-making skills with little direction. Working knowledge of a clinical electronic medical record (EMR) system. Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently and efficiently. Interpersonal skills to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with personnel from other departments.
